The workshops are intended as lively, hands-on, practical sessions, where participants are encouraged to ask questions and discuss ideas. Both workshops take place in Studio 18 at Persistence Works, 21 Brown Street, Sheffield S1 2BS. Suitable working clothes should be worn. Tea and coffee will be served, but bring your own lunch.

Workshop 1
Plaster Cast & Mould-Making
Saturday 14 January 2012 (10am-4pm)
In this workshop you will learn how to make a simple models and plaster moulds.
The moulds can later be used for slip casting, press moulding or hand building in clay.
The course is suitable for both beginners and for the more experienced.
Enjoy working in my spacious, light studio with real artist’s materials.

Workshop 2
Using Plaster Moulds
Saturday 28 January 2012
(10pm-4pm)
In this workshop, you will learn how to use the plaster moulds made in Workshop 1.
We will be casting in porcelain slip and press moulding or hand building in stoneware clay.
Participants who have previously attended one of my workshops can bring their moulds along and work from them.
All good pieces will be fired and ready to collect at a later date.
WE WILL NOT BE MAKING PLASTER MOULDS AT THIS WORKSHOP.
Price for this workshop is £80.00, including materials and firing.
